Four simple stages. The whole flow is designed to take a colleague under three minutes from their phone.
Step 1
Colleague signs in with their work email or employee number. Register once, return anytime.
Step 2
They land on the branded campaign home and see the prompt and stories from peers.
Step 3
A 30–90s clip is recorded on the phone, tagged with their division, and uploaded.
Step 4
After moderation it appears on the story wall where peers watch, like and comment.
Videos are stored on object storage and served globally through a CDN, so playback stays fast on any device and network, without overloading the application server.

S3-compatible object storage holds the master video files. Cheap, scalable, durable.
Built-in CDN
Spaces ships with a global CDN, so videos are cached at edge nodes close to each viewer.
Cloudways hosting
The application (Next.js + database) runs on managed Cloudways infrastructure.
Built for an internal audience with employee data, the platform is private by default and protected at every layer.
Only signed-in Transnet colleagues can view or post. No public access.
Passwords are salted and hashed; sessions are token-based and expire.
All traffic served over HTTPS/TLS end to end.
Every video is reviewed by People Management before it goes live.
Videos use signed, time-limited URLs, so links can't be shared externally.
Cloudways handles patching, backups and firewalls on the host.
Colleagues can react and respond, but the model is intentionally simple and respectful, with no resharing, no follower counts, just genuine recognition.
A single tap to show appreciation. Likes are counted and shown on each story.
Colleagues leave supportive comments. Moderated, tied to a real name and division.
Every play is tallied so contributors see their reach across the organisation.
No sharing. Stories cannot be reshared or exported by users, keeping all content inside Transnet.
Most colleagues will record and watch on a phone. Every screen is designed for the small screen first.
